Dubai Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

A thick chocolate smoothie bowl topped with pistachio cream drizzle, kunafa crumbs, and fresh berries — Dubai chocolate for breakfast.

Dubai Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

This is a smoothie bowl that eats like dessert but fuels like a proper breakfast. A thick, creamy chocolate base blended with frozen banana and cocoa, topped with ribbons of pistachio cream, golden kunafa crumbs, fresh berries, and a scattering of cacao nibs. It is basically a Dubai chocolate bar you eat with a spoon at 8 AM.

The trick to a great smoothie bowl is thickness — you want it spoonable, not drinkable. That means using frozen fruit and minimal liquid. The toppings are where the Dubai magic happens: the pistachio cream melts slightly into the cold base, the kunafa crumbs add that signature crunch, and the whole thing looks like it belongs on a food blog.

  • Freeze your banana slices the night before. Fresh bananas will make the bowl too thin and warm.
  • Use the tamper (plunger) attachment on your blender to push ingredients toward the blade without adding liquid. If you do not have a tamper, stop and scrape down the sides frequently.
  • The base should be thick enough that a spoon stands up in it. If it is too thick to blend, add liquid 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Arrange toppings in rows for the best visual effect.

Variation Ideas

  • PB&J: Add peanut butter to the base and top with fresh raspberries.
  • Tropical: Blend with frozen mango instead of berries and top with coconut flakes.
  • Mocha: Add a shot of espresso to the blend for a caffeinated kick.
  • Green Boost: Add a handful of spinach — the chocolate covers the color and taste completely.

Storage Tips

  • Smoothie bowls are best consumed immediately after making.
  • You can pre-portion the frozen ingredients in freezer bags for quick morning assembly.
  • Leftover pistachio cream keeps in the fridge for 2 weeks.
